Why are multipart (concatenated) messages getting delivered slower?

Answer
Each part of a concatenated/multipart message might take up to 10 seconds to be processed by the destination phone, and all parts of a multipart message need to have arrived before they can be reassembled by the destination phone. Therefore, handset delivery notifications for different parts of a multipart message might be delayed between each other, even though the messages are displayed at the same time on the handset.
